Winter in Lijiang is my favorite. As a southerner, the dry climate here is perfect for me. On sunny days, wearing two layers of clothes is as comfortable as autumn. However, if you plan to go to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain 🏔️, you need to wear a down jacket. Fortunately, there are shops at the foot of the mountain where you can rent one. Scarves 🧣 and hats 🧢 can also be easily bought in the ancient town. The wind on the mountain is strong, and even on sunny days 🌞, the temperature is still low, making it feel cold. The water in Blue Moon Valley is still crystal clear, and the blue lake and snow-capped mountains complement each other, making you want to stay there for a while. Yuhu Village at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain now has a minibus service directly from the ancient town. We visited it on our way to Baisha. The former residence of American explorer Rock is located here, and it is said that he lived here for 27 years. Yuhu Village is small, and you need to buy a ticket for the electric car to enter. The houses in the village are all made of stone. There are two coffee shops in the village, which are picturesque and very suitable for taking photos, but the prices are a bit expensive. In addition to visiting the village, you can also take a walk to the nearby Longnv Lake, which is a small lake and grassland, and you can also enjoy horseback riding. If time permits, you might as well go there.

Originally, I had planned to spend one day at Yunshanping and another day at Blue Moon Valley and Glacier Park. That way, I could dress up nicely every day and have a great time. But who knew I wouldn't be able to get tickets to Glacier Park? So, I had to visit Blue Moon Valley and Yunshanping on the same day. We went to Yunshanping first and took lots of beautiful photos there. After taking photos at Yunshanping, we found a large and clean restroom at the center, where we changed clothes. It was very convenient. After changing clothes, we took the cable car down the mountain. After getting off the cable car, we took a free bus to Blue Moon Valley. Everything went smoothly. The water in Blue Moon Valley is not as blue as it used to be, but it still looks beautiful to us. The scenery is truly healing, and it makes you feel happy. All your worries seem to disappear! One important thing to remind everyone is to protect yourself from the sun! The weather in Lijiang is both cold and sunny. I'm a good example. You can see in my last photo that I never took off my sun protection mask except when taking photos. The sun is really strong, so be careful.

Many times, it is sunny at the foot of the snow mountain, but there are strong winds and heavy snow on the snow mountain, and the temperature is very low, so you must wear thick clothes to go up the mountain. It is perfectly apt to say that we will get lost when sitting in front of this beautiful valley, flowing fresh and clean from the mountain 🏔️; that has just melted away. Blue Moon valley 💙 got its name from the famous novel 📖 Lost Horizon; that it perfectly resembles the beauty as how Hilton has described in it. After we finished the little challenging Jade dragon 🐉 snow ❄️ mountain, as we hiked a little bit, we came back down to have some pleasant leisure time in front of the lake. It has four parts; but we visited only the mirror 🪞 pond and Jade-like lake 🏞️. The water is so clear that it perfectly reflects the mountain in its turquoise toned water. In the crowded mode, I took my child to challenge Yunnan and chose a customized tour from Ctrip. Because I did enough mental preparation before departure, the overall experience for the week was quite good: 1. For those who like a slow-paced life, I highly recommend Dali. It feels very comfortable to stay by Erhai Lake, cycling, strolling through the ancient town, and doing tie-dyeing, all very relaxing and pleasant; 2. Although there is no snow on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the natural scenery is impeccable. Both Yunshanping and Blue Moon Valley are worth seeing. Start early, and you won't have to queue all day; 3. Between Ganhaizi and Yak Valley on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, there is a river formed by the melting glacier water of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The water is clear and dark green, which is said to be because the snow mountain contains copper sulfate, which turns blue when it meets water. The valley is crescent-shaped, and from a distance, it looks like a blue moon embedded at the foot of the snow mountain, hence the name Blue Moon Valley. Blue Moon Valley is divided into four small lakes: Yuye Lake, Jingtan Lake, Lanyue Lake, and Tingtao Lake. They are not on the same level, and the height difference forms waterfalls and streams of various sizes.
