✨ Core Activities | Immerse Yourself in Healing Scenery
1. Stroll along the Wetland Boardwalk | Step into an Animation Frame
Walk slowly along the waterside boardwalk, watching the clear lake water gently ripple, aquatic plants sway with the waves, and water birds skim low, occasionally splashing tiny droplets. The wind carries the fresh scent of grass and trees; there's no city noise, only the white noise of nature. A half-hour walk will dissipate all your worries. If you're lucky, you might encounter flocks of migratory birds. Bring a telephoto lens to capture these lively moments.
2. Boating on the Lake | Touch the Reflection of the Blue Sky
Pig trough boats and transparent kayaks are recommended, best on a windless morning or evening. The lake surface is like a mirror, reflecting the blue sky, white clouds, and distant mountains. Occasionally, migratory birds fly past the bow, creating a clean and dreamy scene. The boat moves slowly, so there's no need to rush. Quietly feel the gentle ripples, take unedited photos, and soak in the atmosphere.
3. Horseback Riding on the Tea Horse Road | Travel Through a Thousand Years
Choose a reputable stable and ride a Dian horse through mountains, Naxi villages, and meadows. Ascend to Wanghai Slope for a panoramic view of the entire wetland. The horsemen will share stories of the ancient caravan. The journey is lush and green, with rustling grass, offering both wild charm and a sense of history—a must-do unique experience at Lashi Lake.
4. Sunset Observation | Enjoy the Entire Gentle Sunset Glow
Dayu Village is the prime spot for sunset viewing, with convenient transportation and easy taxi access for the return trip. In the evening, the sky transitions from orange-red to pink-purple, and the afterglow sprinkles on the lake, shimmering like scattered diamonds. Watching the sunset with companions is incredibly healing, like the most gentle famous scene from an animation.
5. Light Trekking/Cycling Around the Lake | Unlock Niche Perspectives
Rent a bicycle or electric bike and cycle slowly around the lake, passing through less-known spots like Meiquan Village, Zhiyun Temple, and Hainan Dam. These places are quiet with fewer people, offering pristine pastoral scenery, perfect for visitors who enjoy tranquility and want to experience the wetland in depth.
🎒 Travel Preparations | Comfortable Trip Without Pitfalls
· Attire: Sun hat, sunglasses, and sun-protective clothing are essential, as the highland UV rays are strong. Wear comfortable sports shoes for long walks. For beautiful photos, bring a fresh, long dress and a straw hat, which perfectly complement the wetland atmosphere.
· Essentials: Mosquito repellent is a must, as there are many insects in the wetland. Bring a light jacket, as the temperature difference between morning and evening can be significant. A small amount of drinking water and snacks will help replenish energy.
· Altitude Sickness Tip: At an altitude of about 2437 meters, most people do not experience altitude sickness. Avoid strenuous exercise, walk slowly, and quietly enjoy the surroundings for a comfortable and peaceful experience.
🍜 Food Recommendations | Savor Authentic Highland Flavors
· Naxi Local Chicken Hotpot: Rich soup base, paired with local vegetables, warming and satisfying, an excellent choice to replenish energy after activities.
· Copper Pot Stewed Rice: Stewed with highland ham, potatoes, and rice, it's fragrant and delicious, costing around 40 RMB per person, filling and tasty.
· Specialty Snacks: Flower cakes, milk fans, and Naxi rice jelly. Eat on the go and experience the local vibrancy.
⚠️ Important Notice | Protect This Beautiful Scenery
1. The wetland ecosystem is fragile. Do not trample on aquatic plants, feed migratory birds, or litter. Practice civilized tourism and protect the natural environment.
2. Refuse low-priced roadside solicitations and unclear low-priced horseback riding/boating offers. Choose legitimate channels to avoid forced consumption and ensure a worry-free experience.
3. Respect local customs. Do not enter villagers' private homes without permission and maintain a friendly and polite demeanor.
✨ In Conclusion
Lashi Lake is not overly commercialized, retaining its most authentic natural beauty and gentleness. Come here in spring and summer to see the lush green wetlands, shimmering lake, and gentle, vibrant sunsets. It's like stepping into a Miyazaki animation, leaving all your fatigue and worries to the wind. Show More ReviewsMy trip to Yunnan included a stop in Lijiang City. Lashi Lake is the largest plateau lake in Lijiang and the first nature reserve in Yunnan Province named after "wetland." Every year, around 30,000 waterbirds migrate here to overwinter. Here, you can experience unique activities along the Ancient Tea Horse Road, and it's also one of the most popular spots for flower viewing in Lijiang during spring. It's located about 8 kilometers west of Lijiang City in the middle of the Lashi Dam. "Lashi" is a transliteration of the ancient Naxi language, meaning "new wasteland."
