[Performance location: Charming Xiangxi Grand Theater] Charming Xiangxi Grand Theater is located at the entrance of the beautiful Wulingyuan District, adjacent to the Expert Village Hotel (Hunan Provincial People's Reception Office), only 33 kilometers away from the city, with a superior geographical location. The theater is a typical Xiangxi-style building with strong Xiangxi ethnic characteristics everywhere, and is a very distinctive local landmark. The unique natural landscape of Wulingyuan, coupled with the wonderful cultural and folk performances, is indeed the "Charming Xiangxi" that cannot be missed.
【Charming Xiangxi: Strong Xiangxi Charm】The evening show "Charming Xiangxi" is divided into two parts, indoor and outdoor, and is an authentic Xiangxi cultural event. The indoor part is mainly folk culture, including Miao drumming, crying wedding, closing banquet, Maogus, etc., showing you a mysterious, passionate and romantic Xiangxi. The outdoor part focuses on showing the classic stunts of Xiangxi, and there is also a passionate bonfire song and dance carnival. Enjoy the original folk customs program, understand the mysterious corpse-driving culture and folk witchcraft of Xiangxi, watch the exciting Miao stunts of climbing a knife mountain and descending a sea of fire, and feel the splendid culture of Xiangxi that has been passed down for thousands of years in the burning bonfire.

Amazing show and cultural experience. Must see in Wulingyuan. Ticket collection process very simple.
I bought a Super VIP ticket for the 19:20 show of "Charming Xiangxi" for 456 yuan, but I booked the wrong time. The staff contacted me in advance and changed my seat to the first row, seats 13 and 14. After entering the theater, it was my first time seeing a large-scale performance up close. I could clearly see the actors' body movements and facial expressions, which was very impressive. I even managed to snatch some wedding candy during the final wedding snatching performance. The indoor performance ended at 20:30, and then we moved to the outdoor acrobatic show, which included bonfire, qigong, darts, and walking on knives, lasting for half an hour. Overall, it was great.
The package deal, which included the show ticket and Zhangjiajie entrance ticket, had a discount – thumbs up! The Charming Xiangxi performance was spectacular, with both indoor and outdoor shows; I really enjoyed it. We were seated in the front row, middle seats, and the visual effects were breathtaking! If you come to Zhangjiajie, you absolutely must see this show; it's well worth the trip! Personally, I felt the show was worth the ticket price, and the scenery of Zhangjiajie was even more worthwhile!
In 2014, "Zhangjiajie Charming Xiangxi" was named the annual cultural brand and became one of the top 30 national cultural brands. In the same year, Zhangjiajie Charming Xiangxi was also approved as a provincial-level demonstration base for the inheritance of ethnic minority culture in Hunan. At the same time, since 2014, Zhangjiajie Charming Xiangxi has represented Hunan Province in participating in the "Happy Spring Festival" Friendship Party for Overseas Chinese organized by the Ministry of Culture for three consecutive years, and has been widely praised by overseas audiences. In 2016, Zhangjiajie Charming Xiangxi received more than 1.1 million tourists, forming a strong brand reputation and influence.
I really like this show. "Charming Xiangxi" is a large-scale variety show, performed at the Charming Xiangxi Grand Theater, the largest ethnic song and dance theater in Central and South China. You can see performances such as the three ancient mysteries of Xiangxi, Tujia crying wedding, Guigu magic, Xiangxi corpse driving and the Spring Festival Gala "Chasing Love". The various wonderful ethnic customs and unique skills will open your eyes, and the sound and light effects of the stage are also quite amazing. If the weather is good, there will be outdoor performances.
Zhangjiajie, China, is a breathtaking destination famous for its towering sandstone pillars, lush forests, and stunning glass bridges. The Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which inspired Avatar’s floating mountains, is a must-visit. While the scenery is unparalleled, crowds can be overwhelming during peak seasons. Despite this, it's a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Charming Xiangxi Performing Arts Theater is decorated with local ethnic characteristics. The theater is divided into a large-scale ethnic song and dance theater inside and an original ethnic bonfire party outside. It can accommodate about 2,000 spectators. I originally went to see it with the mood of coming here. In fact, the on-site viewing experience is really good and lived up to expectations. The Charming Xiangxi Folk Drama is directed by the famous director Feng Xiaogang and supervised by many famous musicians. The overall program is divided into four parts: Romantic Xiangxi, Mysterious Xiangxi, Passionate Xiangxi, and Happy Xiangxi. The drama plot, dance choreography, stage props, music, magic and acrobatics are just right, and the performers' superb artistic performances show the audience the brilliant ethnic culture of Xiangxi. Because I hired a local tour guide when I was playing in Zhangjiajie at that time, with the tour guide's explanation and the presentation of the plot, my understanding of Xiangxi culture was further improved. Secondly, the local tour guide has a discount for buying tickets, which is even cheaper than the online platform. What is lacking in the theater's arrangements is that when the audience moves from the inner stage to the outer stage, they rush out, which easily causes trampling. Moreover, since the audience who have bought VVIP tickets are transferred to the outer stage at the last, they can only stand on a high place outside to watch. In addition, there are no corpse-driving performances on festive occasions, which is a pity.
Zhangjiajie's local song and dance evening party is similar to the Eternal Love. The square will turn on various lights at night, and the night view is very beautiful. It is divided into indoor and outdoor areas, but due to the epidemic, only the indoor area is available. The show can only be said to be ok, but the scene effect cannot be compared with the Eternal Love in Sanya. I haven't seen the Eternal Love in Zhangjiajie, so I won't compare it. Overall, the cost performance is not very high.
