Former Residence of Bao Yugang

Bao Yugang's former residence is located in East Qifang, Zhongbao Village, Zhuangshi Street, Zhenhai District, Ningbo City. It was built in the Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 1,026 square meters and faces south. It consists of the main house, the front and left wing rooms, and the rear left and right wing rooms, all of which are hard-topped brick and wood structures. Main room: five rooms, two lanes and two floors, with eight columns and eight purlins front porch; front and left wing rooms: two single floors wide on each side, five columns and five purlins front porch deep; , into the depth of five columns and six purlins. Bao Yugang (1918-1991), a native of Zhongbao Village, Zhuang City, Zhenhai, attended the Ye's Zhongxing School in Zhuang City as a teenager. After 1932, he went to Ningbo, Kunming and other places to study and do business, and then to Shanghai. In 1940, he worked in the Hengyang Office of the Central Trust Bureau, and successively promoted to the manager of Hengyang Industrial and Mining Bank and the manager of Chongqing Industrial and Mining Bank. In 1948, together with several friends, he opened a Chinese branch. In 1955, it switched to the shipping industry and had 7 cargo ships by the end of the year. In 1970, Global Shipping Group Co., Ltd. was established and served as the chairman of the board of directors. In 1975, he won the honorary title of "World Ship King". By 1978, the shipping group had more than 170 large and giant ships with a total tonnage of 21 million tons, ranking first in the world's shipping industry. At the same time, he took the lead in donating money to the mainland, and also mobilized people from the "Ningbo Gang" to make donations for the construction of the mainland. Bao Yugang is the king of boats, and at the same time loves his country and his hometown, and has high celebrity research value. The former residence is a cultural relics protection unit in Zhejiang Province.
