Gao Grand Courtyard was built by Gao Xiaoxuan, who opened a jewelry store in Beijing in his early years. In the history of Gao's family , he gave a golden stupa to the Empress Dowager Cixi, and he was rewarded with the Empress Dowager Cixi and the “Jinta Gao”. Gao Xiaoxuan was born in Shanxi and later moved to Lianggezhuang, Fangshan County, Beijing. In the late Qing Dynasty, he settled in Zhangzhou and built this compound. The layout of the compound is in addition to the main room and the wing room, as well as the Huanhua Gate and the Moon Gate.
