I stayed in Auckland for one more day, and visiting this art gallery was one of my many plans. I mainly went to see Maori paintings in the 18th century, but I also managed to gain a preliminary understanding of some modern art. Although there are few Maori paintings, people can easily spend an hour admiring these paintings. The art gallery also has a small cafe, but it closes early. During my short stay in Auckland, I was very happy to have the opportunity to visit this place.
The Auckland Museum is really very general, there are very few classics, most of them are some modern art, it is more like a modern art and crafts exhibition hall.
The Auckland Art Gallery is an old building with a history of more than 100 years. It is a Victorian building. There is a tall bell tower, where many world-renowned painters' paintings and sculptures are collected here. It is worth visiting. It is also the most important exhibition hall in Auckland. Don't miss it.
Not big, not high expectations, not to see calm, but also to reap a lot of heart. Say there is van Gogh Picasso Heel actually did not find, the most famous painter is Italy Bologna painting Rene; Of course there are highlights: the gallery building and the special exhibition of guerrilla girls, clearly remembering the tears I shed when I watched this special exhibition.
Located in the heart of Oakland, the Auckland Museum of Art is a single white Victorian building with its high towers as its symbol. It contains many works of modern painters, full of imagination and creativity, and is well worth the money to visit.
Admission is free at this wonderful museum. Even special exhibits are free. The permanent collection includes an impressive range of regional and international works from many eras. However, we were fortunate to be here for the fantastic temporary exhibit "The Maori Portraits", featuring over 100 portraits of chiefs and other important people from 1800 to the 1900's in New Zealand. Although this show runs only until February 19, 2017, there are bound to be other equally impressive exhibits. The pop-up shops (related to temporary exhibits) and the regular gift shop are very nice.
Has wonderful set and short term exhibitions
The Auckland Art Gallery is a must-see place for internet celebrities to check in. Not only can you enjoy a variety of literary works, but the exhibition hall itself is also a very trendy check-in place. Of course, the most fascinating thing about the Auckland Art Gallery is the classic installation "Dying House" by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.
The Auckland Art Gallery is near Qeen st., there are not many people on weekdays, so it is suitable to slowly appreciate the works. This year to September is an exhibition on the equality of women's rights; there is also a normal exhibition. I heard from the librarian that a visitor fee will be charged from this year. International visitors Each is 20 dollars.
