#weekendgetaways It was a short weekend trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and it was my first time to this travelling spot. It’s only a 2 hours and 30 minutes flight from Singapore and the flight tickets were very reasonable too. The pace of Kota Kinabalu is slow and chill. One must visit the most iconic attraction - Tanjung Aru Beach for its mesmerising sunset. There are also restaurants around with the most popular one called Sunset Bar that serves decent food and drinks with very strategic location for you to enjoy the sunset. You can also plan water activities such as snorkeling. It was an amazing experience to see all the corals and underwater views. Do it soon as the corals are dying at the very fast rate according to the tour guide. Not to be missed is to have seafood feasts in Kota Kinabalu. There were many many choices of seafood restaurants and it was tough to choose one. Remember to get there early as things get sold out real fast! The best time to go would be 5 pm and anytime later than 6.30 pm would leave you with very limited choices. One of the great joys of Kota Kinabalu are the fabulous sunsets. And Tanjung Aru Beach has one of the most beautiful sunset views in the world. This beach used to be a quiet beach visited mostly by locals only. Not until 2014, a blog listed Kota Kinabalu city as one of the world’s best place to watch sunset. Meet Leafville Cafe in Tanjung Aru Kota Kinabalu. A quaintly cute cafe in a nostalgic part of Tanjung Aru. The pastries they made in-house everyday will definitely meet the expectation of the classic French pastries lover; airy, buttery and scrumptious. This indeed a small cafe with only one seating area but they do take big batch order. They are not yet able to deliver but with more support, it's very likely they can in the future. Prices of the caffeine will be desirable to lots of coffee-addict out there. Buttery moist pastry and a gallop of espresso: what could be wrong. (Tips: if there is no seat, just drive or walk to the beach nearby and have your pastry of your liking with a cup of hot coffee. Enjoy!). Malaysia still has a strong British Commonwealth atmosphere, and restaurants start to close one after another at 8pm in the evening. So it leads to the fact that there's really not much special to do in downtown Kuala Lumpur. By comparison, Sabah has better scenery. This sunset is really healing, and there are white sandy beaches and jellyfish seas. Snorkeling is still very enjoyable.

The toiletries in the bathroom were also good and smelled nice, especially the tea tree scent 🍂. 🔶 About Restaurant Sunset Bar's sunset bar The closest scenic lounge chair to the sea is 278 meters per person, and you can order a set meal. The high bar chair is 128 meters per person, and you can order two drinks and a snack. The regular seats behind only cost 39 meters per person and come with only two drinks 🍹. Around 6:30pm, the sun is almost setting on the horizon, take as many photos 📸 as you want, it's really stunning! The visible beauty is indescribable in words. The sunset is truly gorgeous, especially for taking great shots 🌠.

Carrying my shoes, I walked around the beach for half a circle, and then sat on the beach watching the sunset for an hour. It turned out that the day ended like this, lazy and comfortable. Cities with the sea seem to be more romantic, maybe this is my never-tired feeling towards the sea.

We arrive there just right after having a nice sunset view at Tanjung Aru Beach. It is so lively and crowded with people at night. Various kind of local food and beverages serving there. I like the Fresh Pure Avocado Smoothies very much, the biggest cup I ordered was Rm15 and it worth the price. The Avocado here is the local Avocado, Sabah Avocado. It is very creamy, sweet, moist and supersize. There are live band show at here too. The singer sing local language songs. Moreover, there are Marvel and Gorilla Puppet show there, for people to take photo with. It is a must visit night market in Kota Kinabalu! Highly Recommended!
