Gadong Temple

Gadong Temple, in the old days was a Tibetan Buddhist Gelu Temple, called Gadong Can Zhuo Gdanta Jielin, local Tibetans more commonly known as Can Zhuolin, located in Shigatse Bailang County Gadong Town Mayi Village. The temple buildings seen now have been rebuilt after destruction, but the relics collected in the temple have been retained and are very precious. Gadong Temple is located in Shigatse Bailang County, "Gadong" is Tibetan, meaning "Ma'anshan Liang". Gadong Temple has been through the Ningma, Suiju, Sajia, and began to prevail in the middle of the 17th century. The temple contains rare treasures, namely the two track bones of the fourth Kanbu Sambu and the skull of Saquzhen, the empty mother of the temple. The original Gadong Temple was destroyed and rebuilt on the original site in 1985. The temple is dedicated to Buddha statues such as Sakyamuni, Zongkaba teachers and apprentices, and Dumu. Every year, on July 29, the temple holds a "demon exorcism" ceremony.
