What travelers say:

Qamdo Qiang Bahrain Temple, also known as "Qamdo Temple", is a Tibetan Buddhist Gelu temple located in Chengguan Town (also known as "Qamdo Town") in Qamdo County, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. It is the first major temple in Kang District and is known as "the first Zen Forest in East Tibet". The temple was founded in 1444 by Zongkaba disciple Xiaround Songbu. The main Buddha in the temple is the Buddha of Qiangba (Daci), so the name of the temple is Qamdo Qiangba. The main building of the temple is well preserved, and there are hundreds of Buddha statues and high monk statues in the temple, thousands of square meters of murals and many Tangka paintings, which can be said to be a collection of the wisdom of Changcan craftsmen, representing the highest level in the Qamdo area.
