Built in 1958, the Oama Ali Mosque is located near the Yayasan Shopping Center. It is a symbol of the city of Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. It is magnificent and rich in materials and is one of the most beautiful mosques in Southeast Asia. This iconic building can be seen on the way to the city from the airport. The materials used are very elegant, all marble is imported from Italy, granite is from China, stained glass and chandeliers are from the UK, and carpets are imported from Belgium and Saudi Arabia. The whole building is tall and solemn, its huge round gold dome and hollow milky white minaret, majestic and heroic, for thousands of people to worship, is a well-deserved Islamic cultural center.
