The Jim Thompson House is a cluster of buildings covered in greenery and the former home of Jim Thompson, an American silk entrepreneur and art collector. The entire building comprises a classic Thai-style garden. Thompson collected a variety of abandoned Thai houses and structures in central Thailand and reassembled them in 1959. Comprising six buildings, the exterior is centered around a red color, with the structure suspended over a small canal. There is a yard in the middle filled with flowers and plants—a beautiful sight to behold.
Jim Thompson's home is the old residence of American silk tycoon Thompson in Bangkok. He is also the textile king of Thailand. The whole former residence is covered with vegetation and many beautiful flowers and plants. The red color is very solemn.
Jim Thompson is a famous silk knitter in Thailand. His former residence is not only a museum of Thai silk, but also a very elegant cafe. Wooden houses, full of Southeast Asian flavor, sit down at the balcony table and have a cup of coffee. It's really relaxing.
Jim Thompson's house is a delicate little scenic spot and the restaurant tastes good. There will be special guides to visit all parts of the house and introduce and explain some special details and some living conditions of Jim Thompson at that time. The exhibits are exquisite and the goods perfectly interpret the high-end atmosphere.
It belongs to a private house with good environment and good service. The ticket is 150 baht (including introduction fee), and the introduction is available in Thai, English and Chinese.
Such a cool place to visit! You get to see how silk is made and also tour Jim Thompson's house! Well worth visiting if you are in Bangkok! Very easy to get to from the BTS, just take it to national Stadium!
Once an oasis of calm but disneyfied now. Still worth the admission fee.
I would recommend a visit to this house - you can shop, have an afternoon tea and walk around to admire the house.
We ate here 3 times ; twice for lunch and once for dinner. The service and food were really fantastic! Cost and value for money were also excellent? Peaceful surroundings and very clean. Highly recommended

Jim Thompson's Home in Thailand, which has a history of several hundred years, is not particularly expensive or affordable to enter, but it's not anywhere to take pictures.
