The most intuitive place to feel the wealth of the Thai royal family is the Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is the palace of the Thai royal family. It was built in 1782 and has been expanded and renovated by generations of kings to its current scale. The Grand Palace has obvious Siamese architectural features, it is magnificent and has national characteristics, and it is called the 'encyclopedia of Thai art'.
In 1992, the Thai government funded the construction of the Thai Buddha Garden in Luoyang White Horse Temple, which is a condensed essence of Thai architecture represented by the Bangkok Grand Palace.
The Grand Palace covers a huge area and includes two parts for touring: the Jade Buddha Temple and the Grand Palace. The tourist entrance is at the Jade Buddha Temple.
🇹🇭Jade Buddha Temple
Named after the jade Buddha enshrined in the temple, the temple is located in the northeast corner of the Grand Palace, about a quarter of the size of the Grand Palace. It is one of the three national treasures of Thailand, the guardian temple of the Chakri Dynasty, and the national temple.
The jade Buddha is enshrined in the main hall, it is carved from real jade, 66 cm high and 48 cm wide. It was a treasure that was fought over by many countries. After being discovered in Chiang Rai in 1434, it has been enshrined in the Jade Buddha Temple.
There are seven pairs of fairy statues on the high platform of the Jade Buddha Temple. The upper body of the lioness fairy is a woman, and the lower body is a lion; the upper body of the golden Nara is a man, and the lower body is a bird.
Each door in the temple has a six-meter-high guardian Yaksha, holding a Dharma sword, which is very spectacular.
There are also three pagodas to the north of the main hall: a pure Thai-style scripture library, a Sri Lankan-style golden relic pagoda, and a royal ancestral temple built by Rama IV.
The model of Angkor Wat is a collection of Rama III, and you can still see the appearance of Angkor Wat when it was complete from this huge model.
There are 178 paintings in the corridor of the Jade Buddha Temple, which were painted during the period of Rama I, telling a mythological story of good people defeating bad people.
🇹🇭Grand Palace
The main building is four palaces, with the roof in the Thai characteristic three-top structure, lined up in a row, with green ceramic tile ridges, purple and red glazed tile roofs, and pointed phoenix head flying eaves. But these main buildings are not open to the public.
Chakri Palace is the largest main hall in the Grand Palace, with three floors, built by Rama V in 1876. The initial design was a Western-style building, but because it felt a bit abrupt among a group of Thai buildings, a traditional Thai roof was added later.

Wat Phra Kaew (known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha or locally as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram) is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Thailand. Located in the historic centre of Bangkok and within the grounds of the Grand Palace, the temple enshrines Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha), the highly revered Buddha image meticulously carved from a single block of jade. The Emerald Buddha (Phra Putta Maha Mani Ratana Patimakorn) is a Buddha image in the meditating position in the style of the Lanna school of the north and dates back to the 15th century.#placetosee #stunningbeach #londontrip #beachparty #boracaytrip #bangkoktrip #beijingtrip #tokyotrip #shenzhentrip #sanyatrip #newyortrip ¹#hangzhoutrip #beachlovers #topbeach #placetovisit#bestbeach #travel #perfectbeach #localescapes #singaporetrip #helloautumn #triptravelguide #triptravel #beachvacation #hotelstaycation
Was very crowded inside the temple. Would be a good idea to limit the amount of people inside at a time to allow a more enjoyable experience. Prayer can be difficult with everyone trampling around taking selfies & such, not to mention how loud it & be. 5 stars for Buddha, 2 stars for organization.
Director Chen is too responsible! The explanation is meticulous and patient. Finally, I took us to the Jade Buddha Temple Museum and was fortunate to see the rainy season and cold season clothes of Jade Buddha. This is a place where other tour guides will not take tourists to visit. If you are lucky enough to be assigned to Director Chen, that is one thing to congratulate!
The guide looked very young. I learned that he was in his 70s in the chat. Because he was retired, he had free Chinese learning every week in Thailand. He taught Chinese by himself and also brought a group to Chengdu Shaolin Temple Shanghai. The spirit is worth learning, 10 points.
