The museum rebuilt from the archeological excavation site is very innovative. The permanent exhibition hall needs to be descended 16 meters underground (here is the old city site in the 1st century AD) along the walking path in the museum. From the Roman period to the 7th century AD, the ruins of the palaces of the local kingdom, the middle and late medieval buildings are basically on the ground. The English logo is very clear, and there is a multimedia exhibition hall that circulates the introduction video of the changes in the urban space of Barcelona. I came to visit on the first Sunday of the month, free of charge.
The museum consists of two parts, one part was originally the Romanesque palace (PalauReialMajor), and the other part was originally the MercatdeBorn (MercatdeBorn).
Barcelona History Museum: Prehistory to the 13th century. The ruins fully preserved underground fully show the ancient Roman city, occupied by Arabs until the evolution of the ancient city of Barcelona in the 13th century. There is a Chinese translator with you, don’t worry about the troubles caused by language barriers. Tickets are 7 euros. highly recommended. Figure 4 is the drainage system, and Figure 6 is the dyeing vat. The translator specifically mentioned that the purple cannot be extracted, and the purple needed by the nobles needs to be extracted from the shells. This also confirms that there was a workshop dedicated to producing purple for the Roman nobles in Essaouira, Morocco in the early years!
The Basilica of Saint Pilar of Barcelona, Zaragoza is the fifth largest city in Spain, the capital of the Autonomous Region of Aragon and the capital of the ancient kingdom of Aragon. The architecture here is still very special. Although it is not famous, it is still Worth visiting
