East of the Mountain

The highest mouth of the Sichuan-Tibet South Line is Dongda Mountain, 5,130 meters above sea level, located in Zuogong County in Tibet. Unlike the winding Panshan Highway on the Sichuan-Tibet South Line, the road to the mouth of Dongda Mountain is a straight road, which can't see the end at a glance, and has the name of "the longest and most tangled mountain peak on the Sichuan-Tibet South Line".

The Dongda Mountain Pass is more than 5100 meters above sea level. It is the highest altitude of the mouth on 318. It is called the restricted area of life. The rolling mountains and snowy snow all year round are stretched to the sky. The Panshan Road of 30㎞ has been twisting forward and extending to the top of the cloudy mountain. One side is the cliff and the other is the abyss. There is no shelter from the guardrail, only when you are in the situation can know its shock and danger. The mouth is wide, whether the cloud or the fog floats gently in the mountains. They kiss the river in the distance, the mountains in the distance, kiss our faces, and block our sight. The sky is still the sky, I don't know if the side of the mountain is still the mountain. ​

The most beautiful scenery is on the way to 318. Depart from Batang at 7 am and arrive at Basu at 7 pm. Along the way, I passed Dongda Mountain at 5100 meters above sea level and passed the seventy-two bends of the Nu River. Every time I drive, I have a different experience. Come to a pot of fungus king soup to make up for it. Go for dinner.

Dongda Mountain is located in Zuogong County, Tibet. The altitude of the mouth is 5008, which is the second highest altitude of the southern Sichuan-Tibet line. At the end of September 2013, I drove to Shandong Dashan twice in March 2021. The first time I went there was a wilderness, the road was difficult to walk, because the altitude was too high and the footsteps were heavy, just taking pictures. The second time I went to the mountain road, the road was not so difficult, the mountain was covered with snow, and the scenery was magnificent.
