Harbin was one of the important cities in the Far East, where many ethnic groups and cultures converged. The Mosque is one of the few left Islamic architecture, built in 1901 as an Arab mosque influenced by Byzantine style. The Tatars are Russian Etels with black curly hair and Turks living in East Asia. The Tatars are one of the ethnic Russian minorities who arrived in Harbin as early as the Middle East Railway construction. In 1953, the mosque was rented to Harbin Branch of China Hardware Machinery Company. In 1966, it was borrowed by the People's Armed Forces Department of Daoli District. It was used as a military ammunition warehouse and a civilian warehouse. In 2001, the Municipal Government returned the Municipal Islamic Association.

Harbin’s Central Street is really full of historic buildings. The Tatar Mosque is located opposite the old synagogue here. It takes only ten minutes to walk from Central Street. It is said that it was surrounded by residential areas before. The neighborhood has been cleaned up, but it has not been completely renovated. But a large mosque, and it is not open now. The surrounding area is basically the old site of Jewish activities, so it stands out in the middle. The minaret is in the form of Arabia. This building happened to be the Tatar living in Harbin at that time. Proof.
There is no religious function nor open, and parking around is not convenient. The Tatars were built for a thousand years of conversion to Islam. The architectural style is a mixture of Byzantine and Arabic features, beautiful colors and beautiful appearance.
The pedestrian street is full of brilliance at night, tourists are like weaving, and it is more distinctive, fully reflecting the functions of tourism, shopping, entertainment and leisure. The four leisure areas of Xiliudao Street, Xiqidao Street, Central Shopping Mall, and the front of the vehicle factory residential building with different styles constitute a new urban landscape of Central Street integrating leisure, entertainment, tourism and shopping.
I always thought this was the one outside the road. Later, I found it was on Tongjiang Street and it was not open to the public. The area is not too big. The building is nice and there are many details. There is a small square nearby as a protected building, and the photos are good. If you like architecture, don’t miss it. If you have fun, it will be more interesting.
