Changchun Temple

Changxu Temple is located on Changxu Street, Xicheng District, Beijing. It was built by the mother of Ming Wanli Emperor, Queen Li, and the emperor Wanli was named after the temple. This temple was also renovated in the Qing Dynasty. During the Republic of China, the revolutionary pioneer Li Daxu was killed by warlords. Later, when he arrived at Chongxu Dynasty, Chongxu Emperor was ordered to draw a portrait of Queen Liu because he missed his biological mother, and was also worshipped in Changxu Temple. In addition, there is a gold-seeded bronze Buddha pagoda in the temple, which is currently preserved in Wanshou Temple, and there is only a base left. Then there is the ancient monument written by Miwan Zhong, a descendant of the famous calligrapher Mi Yan in front of the main hall, which is called the "Changyu Temple Three Musts" with two statues of the Queen Mother and a bronze Buddha tower. In the Qing Dynasty, although in Kangxi 20 years, Qianlong 20 years to rebuilt once, but after all, lost the royal asylum, Changxu Temple gradually fell down, becoming a place for literary and Yashi to sing poetry and endowment, and when the Republic of China became a stop-and-go place, Mr. Li Daxuan was here for six years after his death. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Changxuan Temple became a residential compound, and it was not until it became a key cultural relics protection unit in the country that it began to vacate and build the Xuannan Cultural Museum. It has been the Xuannan Museum since more than ten years ago, but the popularity was not high before. When my daughter was young, she occasionally brought her here to stroll around. At that time, it was a quiet courtyard. The exhibition hall showed some traditional customs in Beijing. There were some sculptures outdoors. There are not many content and exhibits on display, but the environment is very good, especially the ancient tree that has been more than 500 years old in the three courtyards, the tree canopy almost covers half of the courtyard, which is really spectacular. After all, it is not easy to have a quiet place in such a lively place around Changchun Street and Niu Street. There were a group of stray cats in the yard at that time, because there were few people at that time, so they lived very comfortably.
