The palace, one of the six palaces in the west of the inner court, is mainly used as the residence of the concubines, which is known for the "Zhen Xuan Chuan". Jiajing changed its name to the palace during the year, and it was used to manage the six palaces for the auxiliary queen. The palace was originally a second hospital, and the pattern of the fourth hospital was changed in the late Qing Dynasty, which is connected to the Chuxiu Palace.
The palace is one of the main buildings of the Western Sixth Palace. Today, the Forbidden City is mainly protected by the palace on the central axis. The palace looks quite decayed. It was once a place where Cixi accepted the pilgrimage of the concubine.
