The main entrance of the Summer Palace is the most important historical regulation of the Summer Palace. The buildings outside the Summer Palace are from the west to the east: the East Palace Gate, the Chaofang, the Dayingbi, the Jinshui River, the square, and the Hanxu archway. The layout is rigorous and orderly, and the first landscape to enter the Summer Palace is jointly formed.
The main entrance of the Summer Palace, outside the gate, there is a pair of bronze-cast lions, very powerful. Highlights the characteristics of the royal garden. The Donggongmen architecture is dignified and magnificent, with a three-light and two-dark structure of Jiujixie Mountain. The imperial road is paved in the middle of the main entrance. It is a road for the emperor. There is a door on each side to walk for the prince and nobles. The Kowloon-rimmed gold plaque is hung high above the main entrance, and the Summer Palace is written by Emperor Guangxu.
The eastern palace gate area is on the easternmost side of the Summer Palace. This area was originally a place where the Qing emperor engaged in political activities and living, including the Renshou Palace and the North and South Dynasties, the bedroom palace, the grand stage, the courtyard, etc. Under the door, all painted beautiful patterns with oil paint.
