After the meal, I don’t know if it was the reason for tipping. The waiter did not provide us with a small drink. The first served was alcoholic sweet wine. I explained that we were driving and could not drink, and then served us a good drink. The strawberry juice, a small cup, is very rich and sweet.
For the first dinner in Germany, we chose this restaurant on the edge of the town and sat at the table outside, looking at the Alps. We sat there, drinking authentic German beer, chewing German vegetables and meat, and the pains accumulated over the months of tedious preparations for going abroad felt super worthwhile. The only thing I didn’t get used to was that this season, there were bees around the dining table and even on the plate. My son kept driving away the bees, and sometimes jumped up from the chair, which caused me to ask my son to sit down and eat quietly. The surrounding German diners ate and chatted quietly, ignoring the buzzing bees.
The waiter speaks English. I ordered a different staple food for the three of us. Steak, pork chop and seafood. The portions were so large that the husband with the biggest appetite had a large piece of meat left. When I ordered later, We don't dare to order a staple food alone, and two or even three of us can't be hungry. At the checkout, a tip was paid at 10% of the meal cost.
