Failed to get in here on Saturday night so returned on Sunday. Tremendous food. Huge portions as ever in Berlin. A starter of mixed salad for one was ample for two, as the waitress advised, as was cheese for one. Perfect veal schnitzel and good German wine. Exceptionally good value. Don`t miss it.
Thanks to a recommendation by a delightful shop assistant at the Gretchen handbag shop in the lovely shopping courtyards off Sophienstrasse (near the Hackescher Markt Station) we had a delicious meal in this delightful little restaurant on our last evening in Berlin. A special thankyou to our charming Hungarian host who spoke beautiful English, explaining the menu in detail & recommended a very delicious local wine!
One of the highlights of our trip: we wanted something nearby but not fancy or touristy and found this gem. Buried on a residential street yet very close to Hackescher Markt, we wandered down on a Friday evening at about 9pm, found an empty outdoor table being vacated, and ordered a small meal and a bottle of wine. 9 out 10 tables were speaking German, the waiter understood English but put up with our German, the food was German-heavy but very tasty. An absolutely perfect evening.
