Wineglass Bay Lookout

The sea is super clear and it is a dreamy blue. The super beautiful free, you must not miss it when you come to Tasmania! The traffic is not very convenient. Either you take a day trip or you have to rent a car yourself, and then you need to climb a mountain road. The scenery along the way is also good. The bay and beach you can see when you climb up are spectacular. There is very little tolerance on the beach, so you can go swimming. There are perfect tourist facilities at the foot of the mountain, except that there is no supermarket to sell things.

The Wine Cup Bay Observation Deck is the best place to watch the Wine Cup Bay. From the perspective of this place, you can see the shape of the Wine Cup Bay clearly. From the top down, the sea water here is particularly blue, which really gives people a very magical feeling.

We rented a car and it took about two hours to get here from Launceston. We docked at a beautiful winery on the road - Devil's Horn - highly recommended! You need to walk some very steep steps to reach the Wineglass Bay Observation Deck (about 30 minutes), but it is worth it. After that you can spend another hour and a half walking back to the beach, although few people do. It’s not a hard walk, the way to the observation deck is much harder than this, but it’s worth your effort. The pristine beach, not many people are there, so you can enjoy the view quietly. This is my favorite trip outside of Launceston.

Freycinet National Park is a collection of the most beautiful bays on Tasmania's east coast - "Honeymoon Bay, Coase Bay, Sleeping Bay and so on. And in so many bays, the combination of scenery and fame is "Wine Cup Bay WINEGLASS BAY". In 1999, the American Journal of Tourism "Outside" voted Wine Cup Bay as one of the top ten beaches in the world. At that time, we could not find Wine Cup Bay on the navigator. We could only locate Coles bay. There was an information at the Coles Bay intersection. We bought tickets, got a map and had a clear guide to go to Wine Cup Bay. After leaving the Visitor Service Center, drive a little further up the hill and you'll soon be able to get to the parking lot of the National Park. Stop the car and start climbing. Before going up the hill, you need to register at the registry. Remember to sign the registry again when you return, and record the time of your return. If there is no signature to return on that day, the administrator will send someone to look for your whereabouts, which is also for the safety of tourists. The so-called "No pains No gains" is that the beauty of Wine Cup Bay must go through some mountain climbing before it can be appreciated. From the parking lot to the viewing platform, it takes about 50 minutes to go up the hill and half an hour to go down. When people go up and down the hill meet on the road, they greet each other very friendly, cheer up, feel very warm, and their fatigue seems to have lessened a lot. In order to protect nature, there are no trash cans, toilets and natural conditions in the whole mountainous area. If you decide to climb the mountain and turn over, prepare drinking water and plastic bags in advance, and you'd better pack them lightly. The road is a terrace of earth and stone. It's still easy to walk. But the weather was bad on the day we went, so the sea was grey. If the weather is fine, it should be beautiful. But when we went down the mountain, we met the wild kangaroo, which added a lot of fun to our trip.
