Been here for the summer and winter View but winter can't see much except snow all over the pond.. There's a stream at the end where you can take some nice pictures.
I wasn't expecting much before I went, as I read how weather conditions could easily ruin our chances of seeing the perfect blue. But I was totally blown away when we reached the pond, as I never expected the blue could be so beautiful.
Although this place is often swarmed with tourists, it is still a must visit if you are already making a trip down to Biei. It is a one-way path around one side of the pond, so there won't be any reverse human traffic happening. There are still plenty of spots for you to take photos without being photo-bombed. Do go all the way to the end though you get to see the blue pond ending on your right and there's lovely autumn foliage on the hill right in front of you.
Blue Pond is located in Biei, Hokkaido. It is a pond where the water surface has a light-bluish color. It is surrounded by forest and has a beautiful scenery, attracting many photography enthusiasts. Apparently, the brighter the light, the bluer the water appears. Tourist call it the "Little Nine-Village Valley" of Japan (reference to Nine-Village Valley in Sichuan). There is also a famous hot spring nearby, called Shirogane Onsen.
