Blue mountains: things you shouldn’t miss!!
Visiting the Blue Mountains in Sydney is an adventure that promises more than just stunning landscapes; it's a journey through fascinating natural wonders and exhilarating hikes.
First, embark on the Grand Canyon Walk. This enchanting trek weaves through lush rainforests, immersing you in a world of ancient ferns and towering eucalyptus trees. The track is adorned with sandstone cliffs, and you'll traverse a suspension bridge that sways gently over cool mountain streams. As you walk, listen for the echoes of birdsong and the whispers of the wind through the foliage.
Then, chase waterfalls! Leura Cascades and Wentworth Falls are simply breathtaking. The cascading waters at Leura provide a serene backdrop for picnics, while the iconic Wentworth Falls offers several vantage points, including the cliff-hanging Princes Rock lookout. Gaze upon the falls' splendor as they plunge into the Jamison Valley below.
For an otherworldly experience, explore the Jenolan Caves, a labyrinth of limestone wonders. Marvel at the cathedral-like chambers, stalactites, and underground rivers. The Lucas Cave, with its eerie Broken Column formation, is a must-see.
Finally, don't forget the Three Sisters, a trio of sandstone peaks shrouded in Aboriginal legend. Watch the sun paint the rocks in brilliant hues during sunrise or sunset for a truly magical experience.
The Blue Mountains is a treasure trove of natural marvels, and these captivating facts ensure an unforgettable visit.#familytravel #couplestrip #deliciousfood #Blue mountain

Enjoy a river ferry back to Sydney Harbour (Circular Quay).
The Blue Mountains is a rugged region west of Sydney in Australia’s New South Wales. Known for dramatic scenery, it encompasses steep cliffs, eucalyptus forests, waterfalls and villages dotted with guesthouses, galleries and gardens. Katoomba, a major town in the area, borders Blue Mountains National Park and its bushwalking trails.

Things to do at Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains located about a 2 hour drive away from Sydney is famous for its magnificent landscape of sandstone ridges, charming mountain towns and the iconic tourist attraction - Scenic World.
Visit the Three Sisters, which is the area’s most famous rock formation. You can get the best view of this rock formation from Echo Point Lookout. There are many great walks that you can take from Echo Point to enjoy a different view of the Three Sisters.
There’s are many shops and cozy cafes around the area to explore. I stopped by one of the cafes for a cup of warm mulled wine and it was delicious, especially in the cold winter.
For the best views of the mountains, why not take a cable car ride to Scenic World. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also ride the world’s steepest railway while you’re there.
