Experienced train folks will tell you that the cafe cars on the trains aren't what they used to be... so much better to come to South St station a few minutes early & order from the wide variety of restaurant choices here. Healthier (if that's what you're looking for), less expensive and better tasting. The cafe cars are just nuked food in plastic containers.... we remember the days of fresh chicken salad sandwiches. No more. Stop by Cosi's and get a great salad -- like we did -- and it's a good tasting, inexpensive meal on the way. And the bread is superb!! Train conductors don't have any problem at all with passengers bringing food onto the train. Enjoy!
