love is blueWe brought a 14-year-old international exchange student from Japan. Temple Square is the most popular tourist attraction in Utah. So we think it is an important stop. We told the Japanese-speaking missionary to plan a 15-minute sightseeing tour for our atheist students. We walked to the auditorium, the shrine, and then to the visitor center to the north, where we saw the statue of Jesus Christ and listened to the narration in Japanese. He was quiet at first, but ended up asking a lot of questions about God and Mormon temples. We ended up staying for almost 3 hours. The missionaries were very kind, and they also translated non-religious issues for us. They provided us with good advice on buying souvenirs and so on. The trees are lush and the flowers are blooming. There are also people in their 30s who appreciate architecture over there.
love is blueThis is our first stop in Salt Lake City. We have friends who have lived in this area for many years. This is where the first Mormon settlers arrived. There are many monuments describing this period of history, and there is also a visitor center with short films about this period of history.
