About Brisbane

Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland. First impressions of Brisbane include reveling in ample sunshine, lush parks and friendly locals. Maiwar (or the Brisbane River) passes through the city. This modern metropolis is intertwined with the subtropical natural landscape. This is also the gateway to many of Queensland's attractions and serves as a travel hub. This area has a great number of koala bears. Because of the adorable marsupials, the city is also called "Koala Kingdom". Brisbane has enchanting natural landscape but that doesn't mean the cultural landscape is lacking. You also can experience Brisbane’s strong cultural and artistic atmosphere by checking out the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art and the Queensland Museum and Sciencentre and its interactive exhibitions.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is located in the suburbs of Brisbane and was established in 1927. There are about 200 koalas here. The protected area includes the Girl District, the Boy District, the Unmarried Koala District, the Married Koala District and the Elderly Koala District. Australian law stipulates that koalas are only allowed in Queensland, and there is an opportunity to hold koalas in the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. In addition to koalas, you can also see a variety of unique Australian animals such as wombats, Tasmanian devils, kangaroos and more. You can also personally feed rainbow parrots, kangaroos and other animals. In addition, there are many performances and activities such as the Shepherd Dog Show, Raptor Show, and Sheep Shearing in the park.

Located on the south bank of the Brisbane River, South Bank Park is a strip-shaped water park built along the river and connected to Brisbane's northern suburbs by Victoria Bridge. This is a great place to enjoy Brisbane's subtropical climate and is the perfect place for outdoor picnics. There are clear artificial beaches and lush meadows in the park. You can barbecue here, take a cruise on the river, or watch a street performance in the square and walk into the cinema to watch the big screen movie.

Island/Peninsula
Moreton Island is a large island in Brisbane, and most of the island's area is covered by national parks. It is known worldwide for its wild dolphins, so it is also known as the "Dolphin Island." It is located in the Pacific Ocean, so you can see whales, seabirds, large groups of dolphins, and enjoy sand tobogganing. In addition to the stunning beach view, the Tangjia Luma Dolphin Resort is another attraction of this island. The island also features Queensland’s ancient lighthouse, wonderful oceanic beaches and blue lagoon at Cape Moreton.

River
Both visitors and locals to Brisbane often find that the Brisbane River has a lot to offer in the way of family-friendly activity. A large variety of cruises run up and down the river constantly, giving sight-seers some of the best views of the city. Kayakers splash through the waters anytime the weather is nice enough. Bicyclers explore trails along its banks as friends and families enjoy picnics on its shores. Frugal explorers can get a pass for the CityCat--the local ferry system--and enjoy some spectacular views without hurting their wallets.
