CoachBreathtaking, peaceful views that will restore your sanity after a long week. There are so many hikes around the area that you can enjoy, some long and some very short. If you’re entering the actual park, don’t forget to hike or drive to the top and cross the swinging bridge.

dua***neSpent 2 and a half hours to visit the small exhibition hall. Mainly some furniture from the early 19th century. Modern paintings. There is also an interesting resident sculptor in the basement.

CoachThere is a reason the Blue Ridge Parkway is consistently ranked the best scenic drive in America. It’s long so you may not be around this area, but if you happen to be in Blowing Rock or Boone, it’s worth making a trip to the Linn Cove Viaduct on the parkway. It feels like you’re flying as you drive across. Near the viaduct there is also one of the best quick hikes named Rough Ridge.
