Museum of Pop Culture
10:00-17:00 (Local time)
Housed in a one-of-a-kind building designed by architect Frank O. Ghery, the Museum of Pop Culture, or MoPOP, (formerly the Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum & Hall of Fame) is a vital addition to Seattle's music scene. The museum is dedicated to educating the public about the science, innovation and inspiration behind popular music through its interactive and informative exhibits. Visitors can view rare memorabilia belonging to Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix, listen to the museum's oral history collection of artists telling their stories, and indulge their inner musician by learning a guitar lick in the hands-on Sound Lab. The Museum of Pop Culture is a leading-edge nonprofit museum, dedicated to the ideas and risk-taking that fuel contemporary popular culture. With its roots in rock 'n' roll, MoPOP serves as a gateway museum, reaching multigenerational audiences through our collections, exhibitions, and educational programs, using interactive technologies to engage and empower our visitors. At MoPOP, artists, audiences and ideas converge, bringing understanding, interpretation, and scholarship to the popular culture of our time.
