The Hemu Grassland

Hemu grassland is located in the mountain basin where the Kanas River and Hemu River meet in Burqin County. Green grass and dense forest. The larger Tuva village of Hemu Village in Kanas is located on the vast Hemu grassland.

Hemu Township is located in Burqin County, northern Xinjiang, about 70 kilometers away from Kanas Lake, surrounded by mountains, green grass, flowers, and a small wooden house and flocks of herds, forming a unique natural and cultural landscape. Hemu grassland is located in the interlaced basin at the junction of Kanas River and Hemu River in Buerjin County, with an elevation of 1124-2300 meters. The hills around the basin are thick and rounded with rounded tops, and the rivers are mostly cut into gorges with complex topography. The Hemu River runs through the area from northeast to southwest, dividing the grassland into two parts. The mountain sunny slopes are densely forested and lush, where wapiti, marmots and snow chickens inhabit. On the shady slopes, the green grass slopes are full of flowers and fragrance overflowing. Bees are gathering flowers to make honey, and cattle and sheep are all over the mountains looking for food and rejoicing. A fascinating view of the vast grasslands.

Hemu Village is located on the shore of Kanas Lake in Burqin County, Xinjiang, and is the remotest and largest village of the remaining three Tuva villages (Hemu Village, Kanas Village and Baihaba Village).
