Great food. Great service. We loved the &ldquo;new/old&rdquo; feeling of the place. Would definitely go back.

Unassuming from the outside but what a find!   Great atmosphere - the tables on the 1st floor have a fabulous view.   Service was fantastic - a young team who really knew what they were doing.   Great menu with variety.   4 guests and we all really enjoyed our choices.   Wine list was good too.   It was busy, but we went on a public holiday, that said we did not feel rushed and loved the vibe there.

We are so glad we dined at L&rsquo;Aromate! The staff was friendly and lovely to us as English speakers and helped us understand the menu and selections. The food was truly excellent - a gourmet experience. We have loved our stay in Caen and dinner here will be one of our favorite memories from this trip.

Upmost quality of ingredients, high levels of technical skill on display, well designed flavour combinations and attractive presentation. The monkfish was sublime, such as the raspberry themed dessert. Service was excellent and highly professional.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. We did the tasting menu which was to die for. Highly recommend this place for a celebration or a lunch out with friends and family.. Cannot wait to be back.

A magnificent example of classic French preparations with a Normand influence. Delicious at every step. First class service, sensational ingredients and flavors. Flawless wine pairing. An exceptional restaurant.

Food was excellent. By far the best in Caen. Service on the other hand  was really bad. Seemed to lack commmunication between wait staff and kitchen. 3 out of 5 times food arrived before wine. Forcing us to choose between cold food or wine with the food. Once we asked if it was okay to leave the table to go outside, got an okay from the waiter who then served the hot dish while we were still outside and yet again had to fetch the wine pairring for the dish. At 180 &euro; pr. person one would expect better service and not once did we experience the same at two of the other high end restaurants in Caen we vistited prior to Ivan Vautier.

This restaurant had great ambience and service and good food and options at a very reasonable price but the food was a bit bland. We ordered fish and steak and once we added a bit more salt, pepper and lemon (on fish) it was great.  I would recommend.

This was an amazing restaurant in the heard of the town. Friendly, professional English speaking staff and menu, great food and amazing ambiance. We sat at a table near the window and had an amazing view. We could definitely keep coming back here.
