The Great Barrier Reef runs along the northeast coast of Australia from the Torres Strait to just below the Tropic of Capricorn. This spectacular marine habitat is one of the world's seven natural wonders and consists of hundreds of coral islands. Most of the reef is underwater and is only exposed at low tide. From the air it resembles a kaleidoscope of dazzling emeralds.
Just 45 minutes across the Coral Sea by fast catamaran from Cairns, Green Island is a beautiful 6000 year old coral cay located within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. It takes only over one hour to walk around the Green Island. After arriving at Green Island by boat, you can take a stroll through the rainforest, or go diving or choose to take a glass bottom boat to see the colorful coral reefs under the sea. Water paragliding, helicopter tours and undersea walks are also popular.
The Corniche is the hub of Cairns' life and the iconic landscape of Cairns. It is a boulevard full of the charm of a seaside resort. The coastal boulevard is built along the beach. The road stretches along Sany Bay. On one side is the scenery of the beach, the blue sky, the bright sunshine, and the neat high-rise building on one side. The Spencer Street has a Marin breakwater towards the sea, and visitors to the boat trip make the place very lively.
