Liberation Square (Midan El-Tahreer)

Stayed in a hotel in front of this huge intersection. The whole square can be seen from the room. Very close to the Nile. This started here after the Arab Spring a few years ago. Important in modern Egyptian politics. Visitors can find many restaurants and cafes nearby. Only half a kilometer from the Egyptian Museum. Always busy traffic. Cross the road, follow the locals, cross the road carefully.

Because history has not been long, even young people can tell you important historical events here, so it feels quite alive. Behind it is a famous museum, hotel, etc. The locals take pictures here.
