Namagi National Park is located in the Namagi Mountains, about 18 miles southwest of the capital Canberra, and is also at the northern end of Australia's Alpine National Park. It is covered with snow most of the year. All kinds of wild animals and plants in the park, as well as some historical sites of nature, are also protected. There are more than 222 recorded vertebrate fauna in Namagi National Park, with many undocumented or endangered fauna. For example, the northern "Carnival" frog, a frog family that is facing extinction in the world, currently only lives in the swamps and mud ponds of the middle and lower Namagi mountains.
