Cebu’s Fort San PedroCurrently called the Plaza Independencia, is a military defense structure built during the 1700s. This fortress is made of stone-walls by the bare hands of the Filipinos under the supervision of the Spaniards. You can tell from the walls that this structure holds so much history and story. Although, it bears a sad and traumatizing story of the Cebuano’s past, today, it serves as a peaceful retreat from the chaos of the city. This was our last stop after a whole day of strolling around Cebu and indeed it was a great escape from a tiring day. You can see the history of structure just at the entrance and some old photos that shows its original structure. When you walk inside the fort, you just want to see architectural design and the old cannons that was used back then. This fortress itself was very good. As of July 2022, it is open. Admission is 30 pesos. However, I went with a friend, and when I paid, I was told to pay all of them together. When I said that I wanted to pay separately, I was bitterly laughed with my eyes on other security guards ... It didn't feel good. But the fortress itself was very good. It was a holiday, but there were few people, so I was able to watch it slowly.
Fort San Pedro, I went out early, the tour bus has not come yet, there are three cats still sleeping in at the door, everyone can have a free tour guide when they come in, my young lady is super nice to explain the history of Cebu for me, I think I will go again! Because you made the trip even better!

Don’t go during noon, its very hot.. this place is a historical place in Cebu, in the middle of the city. Its a little bit crowded outside and not easy to find parking space.
