I loved walking through Jinli ancient street. There were many shops selling stuff and stalls selling Chengdu famous snacks. The place was very big and we spent many hours walking through it but still had not been able to cover the whole place. I would suggest for visitors to go in the afternoon and stayed till evening where you were able to see the faves of the ancient street in day light and when the buildings and streets lighted up in bright lights. The ancient street looked beautiful at night. This is a must-go place for tourists!
Jinli is a part of Chengdu Wuhou Temple Museum (Three Kingdoms Historical Relics Area, Jinli Folklore Area, West District), covering more than 30,000 square meters, with a building area of more than 14,000 square meters, and a street length of 550 meters. It is coated with the residences of Western Sichuan in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. The culture of the three Kingdoms and Chengdu Folklore are integrated with tourism, shopping and leisure and entertainment. According to legend, Jinli was one of the oldest and most commercial streets in the history of Xishu. It was well-known as early as Qin, Han and Three Kingdoms. Now, Jinli covers an area of more than 30,000 square meters, with a building area of more than 14,000 square meters and a street length of 550 meters. It takes the residences of Western Sichuan as its coat in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and the culture of the Three Kingdoms and Chengdu folk customs as its connotation, integrating tourism, shopping and leisure and entertainment. It was named after Wangfujing, Jianghan Road in Wuhan, Jiefangbei in Chongqing and Heping Road in Tianjin. Jinli has a long history. Although everything in Jinli is rebuilt in modern times, Jinli has been a famous commercial center in China since the Qin and Han Dynasties and the Three Kingdoms Period. It is one of the oldest pedestrian streets in China. Today in Jinli, there are booths for traditional craftsmen, paper-cuts, sugar paintings and so on. Shadow play is more appreciated by me. Now it seems that Wuhou Temple has become a place for young people to find romantic poetry. In short, Jinli is a place worth visiting!
This is a great place to experience a taste of Chengdu. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Chengdu.
During the Spring Festival, Jinli Temple Fair is very lively. We choose more than 4 p.m. from Wuhou Temple to enter the ticket 30 yuan, 15 yuan for girls and students. On the East side, we go out to Jinli Grand Courtyard and walk slowly to Old Street. The evening is approaching snack street. It's just the beginning of the Chinese lantern. Decorated with red lanterns along the way, Jinli snacks and bar streets have a unique flavor.
If you haven't been to Jinli, you will not regret it. If you come to Jinli, you will be glad you didn't miss it. Jinli has the architectural flavor of wide and narrow lanes, all the special products and special souvenirs of Sichuan, all kinds of snacks all over the country, and many and many I want. If you ask me how good Jinli is, I don't know how to express it in words, but I want to tell you: if you come to Chengdu, you must come to Jinli.
Just an amazing street.......lightening, traditional materials... i really like this place..
A popular tourist area in the heart of Chengdu. Remember to arrive early to beat the lines!
Jinli Ancient Street is a great shopping and eating district. Lots of interesting shops including brocade, silk, caligraphy, tea, crafts, etc. Many food options to choose from, including hot pot. You can also see performances of Chinese opera. Well worth the visit if you are in town, but traffic and barricades make catching a DiDi a bit difficult, walk a few blocks away before calling for a car.
