What travelers say:

Confederate Museum (The Museum of the Confederacy) is located in downtown Richmond, Virginia, very close to the Virginia State Capitol, a few minutes walk. Richmond was the Confederate during the American Civil War (The Confederate States of America , CSA, translated as "Confederate State of America", "Confederate United States", or "Confederate"). The Confederate Museum is with the Confederate White House. The Confederate White House (White House of The Confederacy) is a white residential building, originally a private house of a rich Richmond mansion, and later belonged to Richmond City. In 1861, Jefferson Davis was elected president of the Confederate by the Southern regime. 1861-1865 The Confederate rented the house to the Richmond City Government for Davis and his wife and children. After the Confederate failed, Davis fled Richmond. Now the interior room and furnishings have been restored according to the original history. Davis' office is upstairs. Now, with the hospital towers built nearby, the Confederate Museum and the Confederate White House look small.
