I can't believe that Chicago has such a distinguishing feature in the city itself that adds so much flare to the city's culture like a river. The Bay Area doesn't have a river ... and even if it did, it probably wouldn't be as cool as this Y-shaped stream snaking through the heart of Chicago in between the ginormously tall buildings of downtown Chicago. I love that there are side walk cafes and beautifully appointed architecture adorning the side of the river. The architectural cruise is definitely a must take to take in all that the river has to offer. The river goes out into Michigan Lake on one side and you have an amazing view of Navy Pier from the end of the river where the Spiral has supposedly sprung (perhaps I'm wrong, haven't been there in 2 years!).The Chicago river is truly one of a kind and it's a must see if you're in Chicago.
You must ride the water taxi on the Chicago River. It is very inexpensive.
The best part; is when they dye the river green for St Patrick's Day.
Get a cooler and rent a pontoon on groupon. The most fun.
This is what I overlook from my bedroom...Awesome!
Best place to come for st Patrick's day!
A great way to discover Chicago and its architecture is by boat. I highly recommend it.
i really enjoyed the informational sunset boat ride. It's a must
