Photos of Lake Shikotsu

Lake Shikotsu, formed by volcanic eruptions, is a large lake in Hokkaido and an unfrozen lake in the northern part of Japan. In summer, it is a habitat for migratory birds, attracting many bird watchers, and the autumn leaves festival in October is also very popular. The sunset on Lake Shikotsu is very beautiful. If you like photography, you will not be disappointed by coming here to take pictures. On the lakeside near the exit of the Chitose River on the east bank, there are hotels and a cruise ship pier, and there are 3 campsites around the lake. The mountain rocks are steep, 10 meters high and 500 meters long, and are covered with more than 30 kinds of moss plants such as shrimp moss. This moss cave door presents a velvety luster, showing a dreamlike beauty. Since some parts of the moss cave door collapsed, it can only be viewed from the observation deck at the entrance.
