Tongyuan Gate Park

Tongyuanmen City Wall is located at the intersection of Zhongshan 1st Road, Heping Road and Jintang Street, Qixinggang Yuzhong District, Chongqing. Its main entrance is westward, stone-built, double-arched doorway, and the two holes are separated by a patio for easy lighting. The city gate is5.33 meters high,3.5 meters wide, and7.41 meters thick. The original heavy Yuxie Peak Gate Building on the city gate has not existed, and there are still leftover city walls on both sides 100 meters. The original building has been destroyed because of the age. To date, Tongyuanmen is one of the only two remaining city gates in Chongqing, and Tongyuanmen section of the city wall is also the only preserved city wall site in Chongqing. Chongqing, as a "historical and cultural city" approved by the State Council, rescue and protection of historical monuments is particularly important in the new round of urban development and construction. The Yuzhong District Government of Chongqing City established a project on July 16, 2003 to officially determine the construction of Tongyuanmen Ancient City Wall Site Park. The site of Tongyuanmen Ancient City Wall is located in the section of Zhongshan Road, Qixinggang, Yuzhong District. The edge of the original Chongqing city with the changes of history and the expansion of the city, now located on the main road of the city, four roads meet here, every day traffic, people flow, different historical period of residential buildings attached to the city wall construction. The city is up and down the city life is leisurely, the pass that guards the city is now a place for people to live and work.

Chongqing Tongyuanmen Ruins Park, located in Qixinggang, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, is Chongqing City in 2004 in the original site of Tongyuanmen construction, built in 2005 and opened. Tongyuanmen was first built in the Three Kingdoms period, and then rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. It has been more than 600 years of vicissitudes and has silently witnessed the changing trajectory of Chongqing's urban development!

The iconic relics, after repairing, look more immersive to the ancient battlefield at the time. There is also a tea house on the wall of the gate building to sit, and there are old streets around to walk around.

Tongyuan Gate Wall Site is a national key protected cultural relic Chongqing ancient city wall-Tongyuan Gate Section Gate and Wall. Its predecessor is Zhenxi Gate, and its base site is Jiangzhou City Wall built by Shu Du and Li Yan in the four years of the Three Kingdoms'construction (226 A.D.) and Peng Daya in the second year of Jiaxi in the Southern Song Dynasty (1238 A.D.) to fight against Mongolian iron riding. This time, because I lived in Qixing Gang, I found this cultural relic on my way to Jiefang Monument in the evening, because I didn't stay too much for maintenance. Tongyuan Gate is one of the two remaining city gates in Chongqing, and the city wall of Tongyuan Gate section is the only one with relatively complete preservation in Chongqing.

This place was transformed into an open park at the intersection of Heping Road and Jintang Street. Tongyuan Gate is a national heritage preservation building. It must be reasonable for Tongyuan Gate to be included in the preservation building. For the local people, it may be just a wall different from the surrounding buildings, but for the people living in the city to come here, you will find that Chongqing has a long history.
