Jiezi Ancient Town in Chongzhou City
Jiezi Ancient Town is known as the 'Water Town of Western Sichuan' and is referred to as the 'Back Garden of Qingcheng'. The town's establishment has a history of over 1000 years, and during the Five Dynasties period, it was called 'Hengqu Town', 'Sijie Town', and 'Yongkang County'. The town area is characterized by the unique agricultural culture of Western Sichuan, the Shuanghe site (also known as Shuanghe Ancient City or Xiaomang City ruins) that dates back about 4000 years, the Buddhist culture represented by the ancient temple Guangyan Zen Monastery from the Jin Dynasty, the Taoist culture represented by the Shangyuan Palace, and the poetry culture represented by Tang Qiu, the 'One-Ladle Poet' from the Tang Dynasty. These elements together construct the unique cultural foundation of Jiezi Ancient Town and the Chongzhou region. The ancient street area currently preserves six streets centered around Jiangcheng Street, with 68,000 square meters of ancient buildings. The houses on both sides of the streets are mainly from the middle and late Qing Dynasty, with water wells from the Ming Dynasty still in existence. The Jiezi Ancient Opera Stage is an important symbolic place for cultural inheritance, featuring a spectacular nine-ridge top hip-and-gable roof, relief stone walls, and stilted building columns, showcasing the excellent architectural culture of the Chinese nation and the profound roots of its folk culture.

Yuantong Ancient Town Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
A lesser-known ancient town trip around Chengdu: Yuantong Ancient Town and Yuantong Tower
👉Yuantong Ancient Town, a lesser-known ancient town in Chengdu with a history of over 1600 years, is surrounded by water on three sides and mountains on one side. The Wenjing River, Wei River, and Bo River converge here. The town's buildings are built along the river, with thousands of households living by the river. The constant flow of merchants has earned it the reputation of 'a miniature Chengdu of a thousand years, and a Qingming River Map'. Among them, the eight-story classical tower adorned with grey glazed tiles, Yuantong Tower, is the most eye-catching landmark.
🗼The Yuantong Tower is hexagonal, seven stories high, and stands at the river mouth, with a majestic presence. It quietly guards the ancient town with the rising and setting sun, while the river beneath it rushes day and night, flowing endlessly. A gentle breeze in winter brings the crisp sound of bells from the tower, crystal clear, instantly bridging the distance between the ancient town and the mundane world. Standing on the tower, one can see the whole view of the ancient town. The ancient town is indeed an ancient town, but the Yuantong Tower was rebuilt according to historical records, standing next to the ancient town without any disharmony.
🛣️Passing the Yuantong Tower, crossing the earliest iron bridge in western Sichuan - Huijiang Bridge, and entering the long old streets and alleys of the ancient town, there is a real small town atmosphere. The crisscrossing old stone streets connect the quiet alleys and old houses of the ancient town. The strong sense of life here and the unique leisure and ease of Chengdu are a perfect match.
🎟Admission: Free.
🚏Address: Yuantong Ancient Town, Culture Street, Chongzhou City, Chengdu.
🧀Food recommendation: Don't worry if you're tired from walking around the ancient town, there are all kinds of pepper chicken, pepper duck, sesame cake, spring rolls, tofu brain, ice fermented glutinous rice, crispy cake, bowl rice, leaf cake... If you can't finish eating, take a portion to go. The pepper duck can be vacuum-packed and kept for a week without any problem.

I was amazed by this ancient town around Chengdu|||🏠Yuantong Ancient Town
It's quite shameful to say that I've been living in Chengdu for nearly 20 years, passed by countless times, and then went to the neighboring Jiezi Ancient Town. I regret not coming earlier. This is my first time to Yuantong Ancient Town and I was amazed. The buildings here are all preserved from the Ming and Qing Dynasties and are intact. Compared with the hustle and bustle of other ancient towns, there is more tranquility here.
🧧As the New Year is approaching, the streets of the ancient town are full of lanterns🏮, adding a bit of New Year flavor. If you also like quiet ancient towns, I suggest you come for a visit, or find a teahouse by the river at some dusk, and enjoy the slow time in Chengdu with friends.

Yanhua Reservoir Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Yan Hua Pond | I regret not going there until now!
| I regret not going there until now!.📍Chongzhou·Yan Hua Pond
🎫Ticket price: 8 yuan per person
🥀Yan Hua Pond is known for two tags🏷️, the site of Lu You's Temple and the filming location for the 1987 version of 'Dream of the Red Chamber'. Out of the 36 episodes of 'Dream of the Red Chamber', 6 were filmed here. This can be specifically seen in the plot 'Judging Cases and Exercising Power by Ping'er'.
🥀The 'Yan' in Yan Hua Pond originally refers to a net for catching birds, and the meaning of 'Yan Hua' is 'to spread the natural scenery on the canvas with a large net'. Such a beautiful implication!
🥀Yan Hua Pond was first built during the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty, being a 1300-year-old official garden. It is also known as the 'Millennium Garden'! It is a landscape garden hidden in the bustling city, with a view at every step, featuring the landscape characteristics of Western Sichuan gardens as well as the style of gardens in the south of the Yangtze River.
❗❗Five must-see spots:
❶S-shaped Bridge: The most typical scene in 'Dream of the Red Chamber'
❷Golden Gardenia, commonly known as Bottle Orchid❀: Located to the left of Lu You's Temple, planted during the Ming Dynasty's Hongwu period, about 640 years ago, it is the only golden gardenia tree over 500 years old in Sichuan.
❸The corridor next to the golden gardenia: It is the corridor leading to Grandmother Jia's residence in 'Dream of the Red Chamber', and there are Tang Dynasty Qiong kiln porcelain shards underneath, which are of great appreciation value.
❹Half Pond Autumn Water and One Mountain Room: A very elegant name! The clear pond on the right is in the style of Suzhou gardens, and the artificial mountain on the left features the landscape characteristics of Western Sichuan gardens. It's truly half Western Sichuan and half south of the Yangtze River.
❺Lu You's Temple, a must-visit for those who admire Lu You!
☑️We went there on the fifth day of the lunar month, not too crowded, and there were plum blossoms in the garden this season, not particularly many because the plum trees are tall and difficult to capture with a phone, but should be great with a camera.
☑️Right next to it is a food street, Xiao Dong Street. A local friend from Chongzhou recommended 'Lao Yang Jia' spicy hot pot, but it was not open. It opens on the eighth day of the lunar month, so we ate at the 'Xiao Ji' spicy hot pot across the street, which was also good, especially the instant noodles! Turning the corner to the T-junction leading to Yan Hua Pond, 'Huai Tai Tofu' is also delicious! Bought some other snacks, well, they were just okay, so I won't recommend them!
❗The snack street gets very crowded around 15:00 in the afternoon, so it's recommended to go in the morning.
🌲There are many ginkgo trees in Yan Hua Pond, which must be beautiful in autumn!
It's also particularly suitable for taking photos in Hanfu.
Hope everyone has a fun visit!

The Yanhua Pond in spring boasts century-old weeping begonia flowers
The Yanhua Pond Park has now been renamed to Yanhua Pond Museum, which is an ancient architectural complex that integrates gardens, shrines, and temples.
The Yanhua Pond garden has been the backyard of the Shuzhou government office since the Tang Dynasty, and during the Tang and Song dynasties, many famous poets visited here, leaving behind a large number of poems and writings. It is one of the best-preserved Tang Dynasty official gardens in China. It was destroyed by war during the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the style of Jiangnan gardens during the Qing Dynasty restoration. It is said to be the only Jiangnan-style garden in Sichuan now.
During the Southern Song Dynasty, Lu You served as the deputy judge of Shuzhou and both lived and worked here, hence there is the only shrine dedicated to Lu You in the country.
The Wen Temple is the state Wen Temple, and it is one of the four best-preserved Wen Temples in the province.
The most popular time to visit Yanhua Pond is in autumn when the golden ginkgo leaves contrast with the red walls and black tiles. The ginkgo trees in the garden are mostly over a hundred years old, and those interested can try to find a few that are three hundred years old
The latest discovery is a century-old weeping begonia, which is currently in full bloom, with delicate pink flowers. It is surprisingly harmonious to see people dressed in Tang and Han costumes taking photos here
Ps: The ticket price is 8 yuan

Chengdu Flower Viewing: Sharing 7 Secret Spots for Crabapple Blossoms
March in Chengdu is a world of flowers
Pink, white, purple, and yellow compete to bloom. The flowering season is brief, a fleeting moment. Waiting for a sunny day is not easy. Recently, it's the world of crabapple blossoms. The pink crabapples can give off the vibe of cherry blossoms.
I've summarized prime spots for the crabapple bloom. Pick a nice day and set out.
Duobao Temple Park (Image 4) Duobao Temple Park
There's a small sea of flowers in the park, mainly because it's less crowded and good for taking pictures.

A holy land for crabapple photography, with many flowers complementing the architecture.

BLAZE GRANT
Come to Yanhua Pond to enjoy the flowers!
The Yanhua Pond was originally built during the Tang Dynasty. The existing buildings were reconstructed in the Qing Dynasty. The official garden and Lu You Shrine, together with the Confucian temple, are located here. The Lu You Shrine is the only one of its kind in the country, and the Confucian temple is the only complete ancient Confucian temple in Chengdu. Every plant and tree in the garden is a view. Spring is the right time for crabapple and hydrangea blossoms, making it a great opportunity for taking photos and checking in.

DEXTER BISHOP
Gulnazar stayed at a private soup-run homestay in Chengdu, deep in the natural oxygen bar, a gift from nature
The hotel is located on the hillside of Jiezi Ancient Town on the Qingcheng Mountain ring road, near the Guangyan Zen Monastery with a long history. The hotel was once a Sichuan-style old house that has stood for two centuries, and now it has been transformed into a unique forest hot spring hotel nestled in the mountains. Surrounded by lush forests, the hot springs rise amidst nature's embrace, allowing one to truly feel the healing power of nature.
Design
As a pioneer of wild luxury hot spring hotels in the Qingcheng Mountain area, Lu Zhi Qingcheng breaks away from the traditional mountain hotel design, drawing inspiration from Sichuan-style residences, turning the two-hundred-year-old house into a modern dwelling. Not long ago, it underwent a transformation and was newly upgraded, with rooms upgraded to private soup baths, enhancing the overall experience, as well as a more natural and luxurious landscape and architectural environment.
Rooms
The upgrade brought about a configuration of 'one courtyard, one room, one private soup bath,' along with a private courtyard full of Oriental aesthetics. The interior of the guest rooms showcases the designer's sophisticated aesthetic, with excellent natural scenery and furniture and amenities that rival those of high-end urban hotels. Facing the humid climate of Qingcheng Mountain, the hotel spares no expense, from heating to bedding, choosing the best configuration, and creating a comfortable and tranquil atmosphere with lemongrass essential oil.
Entertainment
The hotel offers a variety of seasonal activities throughout the year, enriching the mountain life of guests. Whether it's camping and picnicking on the spacious lawn, enjoying the hot springs in the forest, reading on a lounge chair, listening to guitar performances, or even picking and tasting fruit under a century-old pear tree, there are always wonderful experiences waiting for you here.

Ranked in the Top 50 of black truffles, the Zen hot spring hotel in Qingcheng Mountain
Drive 1.5h, directly move into the 'paradise', located halfway up the mountain in the Qingcheng Mountain ring road Jiezi ancient town. The once popular Lu Zhi Qingcheng, after several months of transformation and upgrade, has made a stunning return, with an even better experience. The landscape courtyard and architectural environment are more wild and luxurious, especially the three super cute sika deer babies in the deer garden, looking at the emerald forest extending to the distance, the hot spring misty mountain time, the forest is better than any viewfinder, the scenery is really healing.
Design
As the pioneer of wild luxury hotels in Qingcheng Mountain, the hotel is themed on western Sichuan residences and transformed from a two-hundred-year-old western Sichuan old house. Architect Liu Xingqi insists on protecting this ancient courtyard in the way of 'repairing the old as the old'. Under the deep grey tile eaves is the white wall, the tenon and mortise structure of the wooden beam connects the bamboo woven sandwich wall, outside the wall is the independent pastoral scenery, inside and outside the wall is the Chinese sentiment of raindrops to dawn.
Concept
The guest rooms of Lu Zhi Qingcheng have a total of 10 rooms in the backyard, each of which has achieved one household and one yard. The green bricks under the feet and the black tiles on the roof are interesting, the wooden brown facade and the green trees everywhere, let people find a trace of comfort in nature.
Room
The guest rooms are divided into two series, 'Qingcheng' and 'Liuding'. If you want to be closer to the mountain, stay in 'Qingcheng'. If you want to sleep with the water, stay in 'Liuding'. The clouds are lingering, the mountains are overlapping, you are woken up by the birds and the winter sun in the morning, stretch comfortably, and the air with the scent of grass smoothly enters the chest.
Entertainment
The western Sichuan residence has a book bar, grandstand, soup pool, path, etc., which make the holiday have countless possibilities. Have a camping and picnic on the huge lawn, listen to the birds singing in the forest and take a hot spring, read a book on the recliner, listen to the romantic guitar performance, pick a fruit from the hundred-year-old pear tree and taste it, here, some beautiful things are happening continuously.
BYRON PERKINS
You must come and try this Qingcheng Mountain private hot spring
🏨Lu Zhi Qingcheng Hot Spring Hotel
The weather is getting colder this weekend, I want to go to a hot spring. I don't like public hot springs, so I chose this one!
I didn't have high expectations at first, because I felt average about the same price range in Emei before, but the experience at this one was really great!
We arrived at 9 o'clock in the evening, and the butler service was very enthusiastic and thoughtful! The room was very warm as soon as we entered, and the privacy of the entire room was super good
The hotel is in Japanese style, and there are sika deer in the courtyard (it was raining when we arrived, so the sika deer were not released). There is also a viewing platform on the back mountain
The hotel brand also has a Lu Zhi Green Valley, I plan to try it next time
