Basing this review on Tuesday nights, when an Irish band plays 8-10pm. Wonderful band and atmosphere, helpful and friendly bar service, delicious and reasonably priced meals - if you&#39;re ever short of something to do on a Tuesday evening (or a meal anytime), make sure you try The Bog

The service here is outstanding and the food is great. The food is unique and tastes better! The staff is meticulous and thoughtful, easygoing and kind. The price is also particularly reasonable and I will definitely recommend it here.

Everything on it was delicious, loved fried chicken, broccoli, ribs, pretzel bread and so on. The atmosphere was cool, just outside the restaurant and friendly staff. But the live music was too big and sometimes you can&#39;t hear it

This was a lovely wee treat for my friend and I. The service was amazing, friendly, polite and regular attention. The high tea was absolutely devine! Full of amazing flavors and variety. The price was reasonable, especially for a high tea. We left feeling surprisingly full. Definately recommend and will be back.

Today&#39;s dinner. The door looks cold and deserted, but the actual people inside are full of voices, and the business is very good. The decoration style is very distinctive, diners can also take a Mexican hat to eat this~ it is very fun~ Tacos ordered two kinds of steak and pork, the taste is very good, the seasoning is also very Mexican style. Fried Chicken is recommended by the clerk, the seasoning is sweet, the chicken is super tender, and it is unexpectedly delicious. In addition, the pre-fry also ordered a fried corn, which is also sweet, with the sauce is not bad, slightly oily. Others also ordered neutralizing with vege. Although the cooking is not light, the cucumber is cooked like this, and it is quite delicious with a variety of nuts.

Having Irish ancestry, a Sunday night meal and good Irish live entertainment was the best way to end the weekend. The bar was reasonably full even at 5pm on a cold winter&#39;s night. Our meal choices were all well presented, Lamb shanks with a fabulous jus, bangers and mash, pie and burger. Good wine selections, beers and Guinness of course. The band played catchy young and old Irish tunes, many of which we were able to sing along to. Service was attentive and friendly. The Bog has live music most nights, with a pub quiz one week night. I think Sunday night has the most authentic Irish music however. The menu had a good selection with several gluten free and other allergy sensitive options. All in all a great night and one we will be repeating.

nothing special here , it still smelt like the night before, the staff were friendly and polite and prompt, i tried the steak which was average , the table we sat at was still sticky from the night before, overall i did feel like i was eating overpriced bar food, although the staff were really good i dont think i would dine here again, perhaps more of a drinking spot than a dining spot for me

This appears to be a popular place in the heart of Christchurch. Myself and my husband went in on a Friday evening for some typical pub grub of which there is plenty to choose from. There was live entertainment playing which was very nice, my only criticism is that sometimes I found the music was a little too overpowering and too loud during our meal as my husband and I struggled to hear and talk to one another. Other than that, friendly staff and good service.
