Dayao Baita

The white tower is located at the top of Baodi Mountain Wenbi Peak, 500 meters west of Dayao County. According to Daoguang "Yunnan Tongzhi", "The white tower was built in Tang Dynasty, and was built by the monks in the western region." The whole tower is18.4 meters high, consisting of three parts: the base of the Sumi tower, the octagonal tower and the top of the spindle tower. The top is round vertebrae and the tower is covered with powder. Under the blue sky and white clouds, crystal clear as snow. The White Tower of Dayao is the only Tibetan-style pagoda in Yunnan. It is about 500 years earlier than the white tower of Beijing Miaoyun Temple, the Lama White Tower in Tibet and the White Tower of Wutai Mountain. It occupies an important position in the history of Yunnan ancient pagoda. In 2006, the White Tower was announced as the sixth batch of key cultural relics protection units in the country.
