Ulanhot Travel Guide
The name Ulanhot is Mongolian for “Red City.” Ulanhot is located in the southern foothills of the Greater Khingan Mountains in the east of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and it is the capital of the Hinggan League. Ulanhot is a uniquely beautiful plains city with landscaped gardens and an elegant environment. The Genghis Khan Temple is located on the summit of Han Mountain in Ulanhot City. Built in 1940, the complex integrates the architectural styles of the Han Chinese, Mongols, and Tibetans. Other scenic sights include the Horqin Grassland and Arxan Hot Springs.
