"The Colorado River is a river flowing southwest of the United States and northwest of Mexico. It is about 2333 kilometers long and some of it disappears to the west of the Rockies. The entire Colorado River system flows mostly into the Gulf of California, the main source of freshwater, and the other flows south to Mexico, but is not out to sea. In 1540, Spanish explorer Melchior Diaz was the first to explore and document the Colorado River. A major river of North America. Found in the Rocky Mountains of north-central Colorado in the western United States, it is melted by heavy snow to provide water and flow southwestwards, opening a twisting 2330km waterway into the Gulf of California. The origin of the watershed is the western edge of the Rocky Mountains, and the main stream is from Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. A small number of origins are in Sonora, Mexico. The main stream flows from Colorado through Utah, Arizona, and then into the border rivers of Nevada, Arizona, and California."

"Beautiful place. One of those tourists "must see" places. Short walk down. It's nice to sit and enjoy for a moment if you can manage to get away from people."
