Introduction
The Chengtou Mountain Historic Ruins Park--located in Chexi Xiangcheng Tou Mountain Village, Henan Province--was discovered by an archaeological worker in 1979. Thirteen archaeological digs were conducted between the years 1991 and 2011. Apart from the archaeological workers discovering city walls, city gate installations and an outer moat, they also discovered large platform-style housing structure foundations of different cultural eras in the Tangjia mound and from Daxi to Wujia Ridge, with complete ceramics workshops, broad streets, dense family clan tombs and a complete large-scale altar along with irrigation facilities for a rice paddy (dating back 6,500 years).

Chengtou Mountain Archaeological National Site Park is about one kilometer away from the county seat of Lixian County. The excavations of the Neolithic castle and the earliest rice fields are of decisive significance in the history of civilization. Inside the ruins of the ancient city, there are exhibition shelters such as wall sections, living quarters, and sacrificial pits.
Take the Wangjiachang minibus from Lixian North Station, get off at the entrance of the Chengtou Mountain site, and walk in to the visitor center. The ticket window is 60 yuan, and the Ctrip ticket is 55 yuan. After entering, choose to walk and tour bus (Twenty yuan), choosing to leave is a bit expensive.
It is the only ancient city site with the earliest discovery age, the richest cultural relics, and the most complete protection in China so far.
