Dongping Lake's Juyi Island or Wuxin Island is also known as Mount Wuying. It is located in the center of Dongping Lake. Historically, it was an imperial waterway of the nine provinces and had been a major military fortress for generations. Legend has it that the Liangshan Good Men Chao Gai, Wu Yong, Gong Sunsheng and other water margin leaders, after having used their cunning to obtain the birthday gift, came to the island to avoid official arrest and organize an uprising, hence the name Juyi Island. After he died, Chao Gai was buried on the island. The original temple on the island was called Guanyin Temple. Because Chao Gai was very fond of plums while he was alive, so the people changed the name of the temple from Guanyin Temple to Hidden Plum Temple as a way of commemorating Chao Gai.
