Climb all the way up the criss-cross streets from the northwest of St. Stephen’s Square along the stone steps, and then walk along the mountain road for more than ten minutes to reach an ancient castle on the top of the mountain called Fortica. It overlooks the Adriatic Sea. It is said that this fortress was built by Napoleon's army, so it is named Napoleon Fortress in some materials. Castle ticket: 30KN for adults, 15KN for children. The castle is open until 22 o'clock in the evening, so you can see the night view. This old castle was built on the site of a medieval castle to resist the Turks. Standing here you can have a panoramic view of the town of Hvar, the harbor and the islands in the distance. The sapphire-like transparent water surrounds an island covered with ancient buildings with red roofs, and the white sailboats in the bay are invincible!
