China and Vietnam share a long border, however the most spectacular part of this must be the Detian Waterfalls in China's Guangxi Province. Around a 3 hours drive eastwards of Nanning, or alternatively south from Baise, it is reached by private car or public bus. To drive here, you can rent a car and drive yourself as the roads are in good condition and not difficult to navigate, or you can hire a driver. For the bus, you can depart from Nanning bus station, although this option is slower. Remember to bring ID or passports for buying tickets and for the frontier border check-even though you're not leaving a country, all vehicles are still inspected. When you arrive, you board the sightseeing bus up the mountain, straddling the river that seperates the two countries, finally arriving at the top and the waterfall scenic area. You walk in a circular direction around the waterfall from the east side, offering spectacular close-up views of the whole valley. There are many observation points for photos or videos here. There are places to buy souvenirs and also vietnamese snacks. Be sure to try the cliff walk, glass bridge and the slide down the mountain for 59¥! Best time to visit here has to be mid-afternoon, so that you get both daytime and the evening sunset over the mountains range and waterfalls. Only accessible by private car...once you arrive, a short boat ride up to small river is a good way to begin the visit. Yesterday on our way to Baise, Jingxi from Nanning, at half way, we stopped by the “Goose Spring”. 🦆 This place is highly recommended ✅, is a beautiful valley within the mountains ⛰️ that is combined with the green 🌳of the nature and yellow of the rice fields 🌾together with a gorgeous pound 💧, making this a very peaceful ☮️ and relaxing 🧘‍♀️🧘 spot 🏞️ To get there probably the best is to rent a car 🚗 or hired a driver, but we also saw some local buses 🚌 , that could bring you there from Nanning city. Goose Spring is an ascending spring located in the karst valley, situated in Nian'an Tun, Goose Spring Village, Xinjing Town, Jingxi City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 4.5 kilometers from the county town. The spring's mouth is a karst cave, serving as the outlet for a large underground river. According to the 'Guishun Prefecture Records' from the Qing Dynasty's Daoguang era, 'Goose Spring is fifteen li southwest of the city. It is said that an old woman named Yang found two eggs in the wild, covered them with reeds, and hatched two goslings. She raised them by the spring, and their stirring of the water formed a deep pool that is unfathomable.' Hence the name Goose Spring. The spring's surface covers about 10 acres, with a depth of over 30 meters. Since its catchment area is exposed limestone, the spring water remains clear all year round, with visible swimming fish, offering an elegant scenery. The spring is abundant with carp. When people shout loudly by the spring, the startled fish leap out of the water, creating a spectacular sight. 'The leaping carp at Goose Spring creating three layers of waves' is one of the eight scenic wonders of Jingxi.
