Beached but not forgotten
Having passed by it on a morning run in winter, it looked impressive from afar, but as I got closer it was less so (maybe because I couldn't get close). It looks a remarkable vessel (more so when it ...
It is a replica of the Hakone, Japan's first Western-style commercial sailing ship. It was a replica, so honestly I thought it was smaller, but when I looked closer, it was better than I had imagined. I felt that the place to put was a waste because it took a long time and the access was bad and there were not many people.
A large replica ship that appears in front of you when you enter the sidewalk along the signboard from the main street. It seems that it has been restored, but since it is full-scale and visible from the ground, it feels quite oppressive, including the bottom of the ship and the mast, and at the same time, you will be aware of the high level of old construction technology. Since there is no parking lot, I think you will be parked around the road, but you need to be careful not to interfere with the traffic.
The water was brown, the hull was black and white stripes, and the mast was yellow and conspicuous. There was no signboard for explanation, just a large sailing ship landed.
In a sense, it's a completely unknown tourist spot.

I could see the mast of the ship from the window of the hotel, so I decided to go for a walk in the morning. Hakodate City and the Tourism Bureau don't have the "feeling" at all 〜! However, the ship is landing. Speaking of sailing ships in the harbor, it's a standard date spot, but it's just really placed. There is a house right next to it ... We shared a valuable time with the uncle in the neighborhood who was cleaning.

It's surprisingly big.
