Hutoushan Ancient Buildings

The Hutou Mountain to the south of Yunlong County has towering dangerous rocks, majestic mountains, Qianxun on the stone walls, and unlimited scenery. There are temples such as Laojun Temple, Hutou Temple, Wangmu Temple, Zhangxian Temple and many grottoes, stone temples, and stone carvings in the mountain. It is the second famous Taoist mountain in Dali area.

Hutou Mountain, located in the southeast corner of Yunlong County, Yunnan Province, is named after the shape of a tiger's head. In the early Ming Dynasty, there was a mountain temple on the top of the mountain. During the Honghua period, there was a Zhenwu Pavilion. From the Qianlong to the Republic of China, some Taoist temples were built one after another, forming a Taoist building group centered on Hutou Temple. Very historical value!

It is built on the Xuanyan IQ, with a plaque "Tongtian Gaolang" on the top. The apse is the Daxiong Hall with the "Three Buddhas" inside. ". There are two big green trees behind the temple, about 300 years old, densely shaded from the sun, very quiet, no monks in the temple. There is the Queen Mother Temple on the side of Hutou Temple, which is a nun's nunnery. The temple is small but quiet. It is a gentleman, kind eyebrow, generous and peaceful, and invited me to sit and enjoy tea. I did not refuse, and we talked very happily. Master Wen is a Sichuan accent, and I asked my teacher, who is from Chongqing, who has been here for more than ten years. I asked why my teacher came to this mountain away from home. The teacher’s smile and answer are all opportunities, just like you came to the temple today. It is also fate. Although it was a chance encounter with Shi Tai, I felt very destined, but I finally had to say goodbye, and got up to say thank you. Shi Tai asked me if I had ever gone up to see Longquan and Huquan springs. The scenery is beautiful and every temple in the mountain drank this water. I didn't know the direction, so the teacher got up and wanted to send me up the mountain. I thank you for being insensitive. The teacher still insisted on going out of the temple and sending me to the big green tree. She pointed me the way with the local accent and watched me go away. Looking at the back of the teacher in the distance, I feel warm in my heart, and I hope I can see each other again. From the big green tree to the small bridge, up the mountain, all the way is accompanied by peach blossoms, after the sculpture of the Chinese zodiac, you can see the tiger spring, the pine forest is full of clear water, very beautiful~ The top of the mountain is Longquan. I am the only one who climbs to the top. It is far away from the crowds. It is sunny when the rain is fast. The Niaoming Mountain is more secluded. When you are here, you feel that all your troubles are far away from yourself. No wonder the monks choose this mountain.

The Hutou Mountain Ancient Building Group is located in the south of Shimen Town, Yunlong County. It is named after a huge saga like a tiger’s head rising from the top of the mountain. It is an ancient building group dominated by Taoism. The ancient architectural complex of Hutou Mountain is dominated by Taoist temples, including Zhangxian Temple, Hutou Temple, Wangmu Temple, Laojun Temple and other temples, as well as Caishen Temple, Maitreya Hall, Three Palaces, Putuo Rock and other stone temples and grottoes. The plank road, the stone archway, the stone pavilion, and the stone bridge are connected in series, and the stone walls are engraved with books and inscriptions, forming a group of buildings with cleverly laid out mountains and rocks.
